Range 16: SW to 9 (65%)

I again returned to my short irons today as the range was extremely busy on a sunny and beautiful day, and the short iron tee deck was the only area with space available. Todays session was one of my best yet, hitting each of my wedges and short irons with better accuracy than in previous sessions.

SW (+2): I hit a record 9 of 10 shots on target with my SW, only having one chunk (+2) to breakup my perfect session. This was my second consecutive session where my SW was extremely accurate, something that I’m quite happy about. My next opportunity will be to hit 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4 SW shots, as inside of 80 yards, I often struggle with my SW.

GW (+7): I hit 10 of 15 shots on target with my GW, pulling three to the left (+3), and blading two (+4). I was happy with the trajectory of my shots, though was disappointed with the two bladed shots, as I’ve been fairly accurate with the GW recently.

PW (+7): I hit 9 of 15 shots on target with my PW, pulling three to the left (+3), pushing two to the right (+2), and blading one (+2). I was happy to again be hitting the ball with a fairly consistent trajectory and distance, something that will benefit me on the course.

9-iron (+9): after being a strength a few days prior, I struggled with my 9-iron today, only hitting 8 of 15 shots on target, pulling two to the left (+2), pushing three to the right (+3), and blading two (+4). I will look for improvements on this club in future range sessions.

Overall, I was happy with my session today. Aside from my 9-iron, I was happy with the way I hit each of my wedges, with my misses being primarily to the left or right as opposed to being mishit. My wedges have been a strength of my game thus far, and I will look to continue to work on and improve them in future range sessions, with the goal of getting up and down from short range more frequently on the course.
